Jinočany

Kaple Jinočany

Jinočany is a small town, actually a suburb of Prague, located 20 km from the center of the Czech capital.

Jinočany is not marked on tourist maps of the Czech Republic; there is no ancient castle or other attractions here. But this cute, cozy town in the middle of fields, with well-kept 1-2-story houses, red tiled roofs and green streets, is extremely hospitable to newlyweds. Namely: the local mayor’s office has reduced the period for submitting documents for registering a marriage to 3 weeks instead of the standard 1-1.5 months in the Czech Republic.

The only architectural value of the town is the chapel, built in 1903, which is located in the center of the local park and now serves as a community ceremonial hall. A small cozy hall is perfect for a wedding ceremony for 5-15 people.

Documents for a wedding in the Czech Republic:

  1. Valid passports
  2. Birth certificate
  3. Certificate of marital status, i.e. whether he/she is single, divorced or widowed, issued by an official authority of his/her country. (For Israelis Tamzit Rishum)
    • The above certificate is valid for 6 months from the date of issue.
    • It is also necessary to legalize the certificate of marital status. The best form of legalization is an apostille stamp if their country has signed the “Hague Convention Abolishing Requirements for the Legalization of Foreign Public Documents of October 5, 1961.” Otherwise, he/she will need to contact the official authority of his/her country for the necessary legalization.
  4. The original divorce document, in the case of a divorced person, which states that the divorce is final and not subject to appeal, duly signed, stamped and legalized.
  5. Death certificate of the spouse, in case he/she was married, but his/her spouse died. The certificate must be legalized.
  6. Certificate of change of name/surname.
