What is needed to have a wedding in Prague?

And if we are talking about a wedding in a castle or one of the popular places, then sometimes it is worth booking a year in advance. In addition to submitting documents to the municipality itself, which we do for you, and obtaining approval of the documents, you also need to have time to certify all your necessary documents and notarize them, which also takes time. Certification of documents and their translation are paid separately depending on your package of documents and deadlines before the wedding date. When the documents are ready, we will send them to the Czech Republic for presentation at the municipality by our agent. Without the original documents, the wedding will not take place.
To obtain a marriage license in the Czech Republic, you will also have to visit the municipality and police in person a few days before the date of the ceremony.

After receiving the marriage certificate, to register the marriage in your country, you must submit it to the appropriate authorities established by your country or to the embassy of your country if you are not located in its territory.
Until you have submitted a marriage certificate, which means you have not declared its conclusion, you are not considered married. Failure to present a marriage certificate within a certain period (depending on the country) is a violation of the law.

The best form of legalization is an apostille stamp if their country has signed the “Hague Convention Abolishing Requirements for the Legalization of Foreign Public Documents of October 5, 1961.” Otherwise, he/she will need to contact the official authority of his/her country for the necessary legalization.
  4. The original divorce document, in the case of a divorced person, which states that the divorce is final and not subject to appeal, duly signed, stamped and legalized.
  5. Death certificate of the spouse, in case he/she was married, but his/her spouse died. The certificate must be legalized.
  6. Certificate of change of name/surname.
